Reggio Emilia
| The Reggio Emilia Approach, named after the northern Italian town of its origin, was conceived by educationalist Loris Malaguzzi. Under his guidance, the approach was evolved by a co-operative of parents, teachers and children committed to reconstructing a positive and united society at the end of World War II. |
| The result was the creation of a program based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community, which is achieved through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment. |
| The children are encouraged to demonstrate resourcefulness, curiosity, imagination, inventiveness, competence, and a desire to interact and communicate with others. Today, the Reggio Emilia Approach has been embraced by educators throughout Europe, North America and Asia. |
| We hold regular seminars on the various aspects of the Reggio Emilia Approach and our team are always on hand to answer any questions you may have. Contact franceswood@thekensingtonnursery.com |
